What chemicals should I add to a Pooled Energy pool?
Please DON’T EVER ADD ANY CHEMICALS OF ANY KIND TO THE POOL UNLESS WE ASK YOU DIRECTLY OR VIA THE POOL APP.
This is an automatic system that needs to be left to operate by itself as much as possible.
During the year, we will advise you when you need to add replenishment chemicals following loss of water from the pool due to rain, back-washing or splashing. This will be done directly via SMS or Email or via the App.
- With your approval, we will ship, typically a few kilos of Advanced Water Chemistry (AWC) chemicals to you for you to add to the water, when required. This is typically once or twice a year. These chemicals dissolve readily and should be added in accordance with the safety directions attached. As with any chemicals, wear gloves. Do not breathe or ingest the chemicals. Wash your hands afterwards and dispose of the container safely. We will ship you the correct quantities. Please add these to the water and do not store. Please note that AWC chemicals are available from Pooled Energy only.
- Keep water in the pool, roughly two-thirds of the way up the skimmer weir.
- Add salt when the App shows that it has fallen below 3,000 ppm or when we ask you. Use the correct type of salt for your pool:- sodium (common) salt: magnesium, or mineral. The target concentration for most pools is 4,500 ppm unless otherwise advised. If in doubt, please add 15Kg of salt per 10,000 litres of water.
- If you have dead circulation and some algae, such as on steps, please give it a light brush to remove the protective coating on algae and sprinkle a little powdered chlorine: Calcium hypo chlorite.
Do not EVER add copper based algaecides as they may affect some of the sensors
